Having ZERO experience with computer graphics two years ago when I asked to be transferred to Computer Graphics and Game Technology program, I have since developed an arsenal of knowledge and skills in GPU computing, real-time and offline rendering, game design and physically based animation. The speed at which I learn to code, to debug, to design and to develop seems only to attest one thing: passion is one's best teacher.
A proud owner of over 200 games on steam, I am a hardcore gamer since my first computer when I was 10. Though well trained in Electrical Engineering, I eventually switched my career path to pursue instead computer graphics and game technology when I had the chance. Out of raw curiosity of how the beautiful graphics, realistic physics and intriguing gameplay are implemented, I learned at an unprecedented rate OpenGL, C#, CUDA, JavaScript, Python, Maya, Unity3D, Motion Builder, Eclipse, git, etc., most of which I never heard of before and now have a pretty good handle on.
By designing and polishing my own games with a team at leisure, now it becomes my passion not only playing games but also creating them myself. It is my dream that someday my name would appear in the credits of those big titles, delivering "wow"s in the form of most sophisticated interactive art--video games. That said, I am also enthusiastic about physically based animation, rendering and visual effects. Despite their common usage in video games, the true potential of these techniques can only be achieved in feature films, where real-time constraint is not as dominant and all sorts of state-of-the-art technologies can be used. Therefore, working in animation or VFX studio would be just as exciting and fulfilling for a person like me.
Speaking fluent English and easy to communicate, I have been a teaching assistant for two graduate level courses, giving students tutorials about the Unity3D game engine and helping them develop plugins for Maya and Houdini.
